Gym Revamps, Trading, Legendaries to come to Pokémon GO this year

Pokémon GO players enjoyed a major update to the game earlier this year with the majority of generation two Pokémon made available. The CEO of Niantic, John Hanke, recently had an interview with German website Wired to talk about future updates for the game.

It appears that the first major update we can expect is a revamp to the Gym system. John said he wanted to see more players participate in this area rather than just Pokémon catching. He also cited Niantic’s other game, Ingress, and how teamwork was a large part of that game.

Other updates aimed for this year include trading with, and battling against, other players, something previously slated by John. Lastly, there are plans to bring the first generation Legendary Pokémon into GO. “I can safely say we’ll see more of it this year,” says Hanke.

Which of these would you be most excited to see?
