Pokémon Sun and Moon passes 15 million sales worldwide

Today’s financial briefing from Nintendo has revealed impressive numbers for the newest iterations in the Pokémon series, Pokémon Sun and Moon. The generation seven games sold 15.44 million copies to date worldwide; that’s since its release in late November. It made up close to a quarter of total 3DS software sales (66 million). For comparison, the second best selling title on the 3DS, Super Mario Maker, sold only 2.34 million in the last year.

Curiously Nintendo also released estimates for the next financial year (ending 31st March 2018), expecting 40 million software sales to eventuate. Are there any plans for another Pokémon title to be among that for the 3DS?
