Masters Improvement Timeline and Plans Announced

The second message from the Pokémon Masters producers, Yu Sasaki and Tetsuya Iguchi, dropped today detailing specific ways the improvement of the game plans to be tackled. A general timeline was also provided.

For November, reward adjustments are intended to take place, including increases to the amounts of upgrade-related items that can be exchanged monthly and in story events. Examples given include adding 3- and 4-star Power-Ups to event exchanges and more monthly Gym Leader Notes and level cap upgrade items. Very Hard courses and supercourses will be given additional Blends, Tonics, and Ades as rewards. Possibly the biggest change, however, comes from the guaranteed increase in non-paid gems. This will apply to gems given for completing events and log-in bonuses. The producers also make note that these changes are the ones they can make the fastest, and are working to make additional changes to rewards for future updates.

December will see changes to the game interface and battle design, as well as improvements to co-op play. There will also be the implementation of a new event type that rewards players with sync pairs.

In January, the system through which you train your sync pairs will be given more “depth.” The wording used, “allowing players to strengthen sync pairs in their own way,” seems to be hinting at more customization options in regards to sync pair moves and abilities. Training events will also see a “revamp … to make them more enjoyable.”

New single-player content is expected in February.

There will be a six-month anniversary celebration in March, as well as a revamp on story events “to better emphasize one of the original goals of the game: showing the bonds between Trainers and Pokémon.”

In the meantime, a special log-in bonus will begin the first week of November. It is mentioned in the rewards changes of November, so it will likely be a gem log-in bonus. Performance issues are their next priority. The upcoming producer letter, scheduled for November 7, plans to address issues such as battery consumption, device temperature, load times, and co-op battle pacing.

The entire producer letter can be read on the Masters in-game news bulletin or through the official website.
